Underage Presentation Night

The Minor club is hosting a presentation night on next Friday night the 15th May at 8pm in Into The West in Sheepwalk. Presentations on the night will be going to the Men’s Minor Div 2 Championship winning team and the Ladies U-16/U-14 winning teams from 2014. All parents and club members are asked to attend on the night


Club Rossie

The Club Rossie draw for 2015 takes place at the end of May. Now is a great time to renew your Club Rossie membership or purchase a new membership for 2015. We are seeking the same level of support from our club members who purchased various levels of membership in 2014. Tickets are now available from all club executive members  or visit​” and if you are purchasing online please ensure you place Western Gaels as your nominated club in order for the club to get the full benefit from your membership.


Code Of Ethics Course

The club is running a Code of Ethics and Child Protection course on Saturday 16th May at 4pm in the clubhouse in Frenchpark. All coaches who are currently involved with underage teams are requested to attend along with all the coaches who completed the foundation level course last year.


Club Merchandise

A full range of club merchandise is available at the clubhouse and on line on our website so check it out and get kitted out for the summer ahead.


Coaching Mornings

The coaching mornings for all U-10 & U-6, boys and girls continues next Saturday 16th May 2015 between 10:30 and 12:00 we would encourage all under 6 and 10 new and existing players to come along and have fun while learning the skills of the game.

U8 Blitz takes place in Castlerea and all kids/parents are asked to be there at 10.30am.

The club extends its thanks to all who helped out with the U10 Blitz in frenchpark last Saturday.


Club Registration

Team managements and players are reminded that club membership is now overdue at should be paid before any games and training sessions take place. Please ensure you have your membership paid as you will not be covered under the player injury insurance scheme if you have not registered on the system.


Ladies Football

The Kilrane O’Callaghan & Co sponsored adult ladies team played Strokestown in round 4 of the division one league on Saturday evening. Strokestown got the upper hand in the first half and got a few vital scores; they maintained this lead for the remained of the game and secured the win. The girls are back in action next weekend when they travel to Kiltoom to play the home side in the final round of the league. Check fixtures for confirmed time/date.


U12 Ladies

U 12 Ladies game was called off at the weekend due to weather and will now be played this Wednesday at 7pm in frenchpark.


Men’s Football

Senior Team

The senior team were defeated in their opening round of the championship on Saturday evening last. See match report inside.


Junior Team

The Junior team commence their Junior A Championship campaign on Saturday evening next at 7.30pm when we travel to Creggs to face the home side. Best of luck to the team and management for the year ahead.


U 12 Team

The U12 team had a good win against Tulsk in Round 4 of the Spring League on Sunday morning in Frenchpark. A great team performance all round in testing conditions.
