Western Gaels GAA Club is re-launching their club lotto from the 28th March in the Goalpost in Ballinagare with draws taking place on a weekly basis from that weekend onwards. Normal envelopes are available in usual outlets. If you wish to buy annual tickets, you will have three lines entered each week. You can join for just €8.50 per month by direct debit or alternatively buy the ticket straight for €100. If you buy your annual ticket before 28th March you will also be entered into a special one-off draw, 1st Prize – €1000, 2nd – €500 & 3rd – €250. All Lotto income generated goes to the day to day running costs of the club where up to 16-17 teams in both Men’s and Ladies codes ranging from U-6 s right to Senior grade are catered for. Club Registration:

The Club’s reminds all players and team managements that players who are playing and training currently that have not registered are not covered under the GAA player insurance scheme. Please ensure you are registered before continuing to play or train.

Men’ Football:

Minor Team:

The Michael Cooney & Sons Ltd sponsored minor team played St. Ronan’s in round 4 of the division 3 league at home in Ballinameen on Sunday morning. The team played well throughout and took control of the game early on with a few vital scores and ran out comfortable winners at full time.

U-16 Team:

The Michael Cooney & Sons Ltd sponsored u-16 team play St. Aidans on Monday evening in Ballyforan in round 3 of the league.

Ladies Football:

Intermediate Ladies

The Kilrane O’Callaghan & Co sponsored adult ladies team take on Clan na nGeal on Sunday morning in Johnstown in round two of the division one league. Check fixtures for confirmed details.

U-16 Ladies Team:

The U-16 ladies team played Roscommon Gaels on Sunday evening last in round 3 of the league. This was a very competitive game with good all round displays by both teams, scores where hard to come bye in the first half but it opened up in the second half, Western Gaels got the upper hand and vital scores early in the second half. They managed to hold on to the lead until the final whistle.

Final score Western Gaels 6-01, Roscommon Gaels 3-05. The girls are back in action on Tuesday morning vs Castlerea in the re-fixed round one of the championship.
